Nelson Ashley  has a background in martial arts with over 25 years experience in Karate. Nelson is currently a 4th Dan (degree) Blackbelt and was the 2011 British circuit and 2012 European Karate Champion.

Nelson has successfully run Karate clubs and Boxercise-Boxfit classes in Dartford and Croydon, and is now runs a new Boxercise class in Watford and Abbots Langley.

‘I started training in Boxercise as an extension of my cross training to get into top fitness for the European and World Karate Championships in 2008.

I found that this style of fitness training got me into peak fitness and the best shape of my life in the shortest amount of time.

I enjoyed it so much that I retrained and registered as a Boxercise Instructor.

My Boxercise class is for anyone who wants an intense but fun all over workout that is guaranteed to show results-lose weight, tighten and tone muscles, reduce body fat, increase coordination etc.

Not everyone who comes to my class has the same goals, body shape or level of fitness.  So techniques and partner work are modified to each person and target muscle groups.

Boxing skills and training methods are conducted in a ‘safe non contact’ class. Exercise is with multiple partners to invigorating music, drills and combinations are performed using punches and kicks to pads and shields.

All techniques are first demonstrated slowly and gently. The class then works in pairs on the combination with encouragement to their max  for a set time before changing over.

Anyone is welcome from ages 16 years; it is open to all fitness levels and exercise experience. I have in my classes 6th formers, new to not-so-new mums, Olympian athletes to OAP's.

Anyone who experiences one of my classes leaves knowing they have not just had an incredible fitness session but they have learnt new skills and enjoyed themselves.
